Overview

Permanent radiographer position in paediatric Radiology. You will join a dedicated, welcoming paediatric Radiology team and work within a multidisciplinary setting to deliver a high-quality, child-centred diagnostic imaging service across Sheffield and surrounding areas.

About You
  • HCPC-registered Diagnostic Radiographer (DCR/BSc) with post-qualification development and ICH-GCP certification.
  • Experience in supporting clinical trials and delivering both general and complex imaging procedures in an NHS or similar setting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple research projects and work effectively both independently and within a team.

Main duties of the job
  • Deliver a high-quality, efficient paediatric research diagnostic imaging service as part of the radiography team at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
  • Support and guide clinical trials in diagnostic imaging, ensuring compliance with ICH-GCP, IR(ME)
    R 2024, HRA, MHRA, and Trust policies; coordinate approvals, maintain trial documentation, and liaise with regulatory authorities, sponsors, and participating sites.
  • Act as a role model, mentoring colleagues, contributing to the development of research policies and SOPs, resolving trial initiation issues, and deputising for the Research Lead as required.
  • Maintain professional diagnostic radiography skills, contribute to safe and high-quality imaging services, and provide guidance to modality leads, researchers, and trial teams to ensure smooth study delivery.

Essential qualifications and training include:

  • DCR(R) / Degree in Radiography or recognised equivalent
  • Evidence of post-qualification study and career development

  • Interest or CPD in paediatric radiology imaging
  • Project Management Qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification

Essential experience include:

  • Experience of radiographic clinical practice in an NHS or similar environment
  • Experience supporting clinical trials within radiology or related medical field
  • Experience performing both general and complex imaging procedures
  • Experience managing multiple projects independently and as part of a team

Knowledge and skills include:

  • In-depth understanding of diagnostic imaging procedures in clinical and research settings
  • Knowledge of secure electronic data transfer and GDPR/NHS governance compliance
  • Awareness of ethical and regulatory processes for clinical trials
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into guidance for the team
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple projects to deliver trials on time and within budget
