Main Duties of the Job
  • Assess, implement and monitor individual care plans for our clients
  • Involve patients and carers in the development and delivery of goals within the care plan
  • Take the lead on the unit and provide clinical leadership, support and guidance to other team members
  • Act upon and escalated issues as required following STEPS guidance and operating procedures
  • Administer medications and treatment as prescribed, monitor effects and report as defined
  • Be compliant with clinical governance requirements operating within STEPS procedures
  • Be involved in clinical audits as and when directed
  • Carry out all procedures relating to the personal care and nutritional needs of patients, dealing with emergencies as required
  • Undertake duties and responsibilities as defined in the work plan
  • Honor STEPS values by demonstrating appropriate behaviours and encouraging this in others
  • Facilitate and co‑ordinate the activities of the team
  • Have responsibility and accountability for the overall quality of client care delivery, including meetings and reviews
Qualifications Essential
  • Registered Nurse on the NMC register
Desirable
  • Key trainer / train the trainer qualification
  • Approved mentorship or teaching qualification
  • Qualification / short courses in staff management / supervision
Experience Essential
  • Experience working in any aspect of nursing with a rehabilitation element (may include student placement if newly qualified)
  • IT experience including Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience of working within governance frameworks (e.g., clinical systems, data management, complaints, untoward incidents)
  • Demonstrable experience and working knowledge of the Data Protection Act
  • Creative and innovative approach, inclusive and engaging approach to client care
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills
