Overview

Are you a qualified NHS Physiotherapist looking for your next career step? Want to enhance your experience across different patients, care settings and develop as a clinical leader? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist to work within our Acute Medicine Therapy team based at the Northern General Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and support staff to deliver acute and ongoing care, including early assessment and prevention of deconditioning, urgent respiratory care and supporting plans for timely discharge across a range of wards.
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to service development, education, supervision and mentoring within the team.
  • Cover wards across the hospital, enabling exposure to a wide range of specialties including Renal, Diabetes, Endocrinology and Gastroenterology.
  • Participate in seven-day therapy services and contribute to the 7-day therapy roster.
  • Engage in in-service training, postgraduate training and leadership development, including education delivery, supervision, mentorship and service improvement.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Post-registration experience within an acute setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Interest in developing a specific area of clinical practice with clinical supervision and support.

About

the Role

Therapy Services provides several services over 7 days (including Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a 7-day therapy roster.
