We are seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacist Technician with a keen interest in mental health and medicines safety to join our team. If you are looking for a new challenge in a supportive, enthusiastic and caring environment in a lovely part of Sheffield, SHPU pharmacy are looking to recruit well‑motivated, forward‑thinking professionals.
You will need to have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a large multi‑disciplinary team. You will need to be friendly, approachable, adaptable, flexible, willing to learn new skills and committed to continuous professional development.
You will need to hold a recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, NVQ level 3 or equivalent) and be a technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. We are recruiting Pharmacy Technicians ideally with hospital experience, but welcome applications from community technicians.
You will also develop your skills through the department's activities including incident investigations, medicines information, dispensary services and providing teaching for professionals and service users. As a team we are committed to developing our staff and service and have a history of internal promotion.
Main duties of the job- Work alongside the Medicines Safety Officer (MSO) to support the Trust with the safe use of medicines.
- Promote best practice and support changes to medicine guidelines within the Trust.
- Contribute to an efficient and accurate pharmacy service to SHPU NHS Trust.
- Support the dispensary manager with the daily management of the dispensary.
- Be confident and able to work with service users, carers, and healthcare professionals internally and other organisations to ensure the service users are safe with their medicines.
- Under the direction of the Chief Pharmacist, Deputy Chief Pharmacist and the Senior Pharmacy Technician perform whatever duties are reasonably necessary to achieve the job purpose and overall safe provision of pharmacy services throughout the trust.
- Perform a broad outline of tasks to achieve key result areas (not a fixed list).

Experience of medicines safety investigating - Describes a safety measures implementation
- 2 years experience
