Job Summary

Fixed Term 12 months with a view to permanency, 30 hours per week.

Main Duties
  • First contact for referrals into the service
  • Conduct clinical consultations and assessments
  • Collaboratively produce tailored support plans

Qualifications and Training
  • Current RMN / RN (Mental Health), Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other therapeutic professional qualification at degree level
  • Post registration clinical training relevant to CAMHS/Mental Health
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable Qualifications
  • Conflict resolution training
  • Specific clinical interventions/strategies such as Systemic Intervention, Emotion Coaching, EMDR, CBT, DBT, IPT

  • Flexible approach to work with a desire to make positive changes to practice
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate to achieve shared goals and objectives
  • Willingness to travel to attend home visits, TAF meetings, and schools
  • Passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can fully participate and thrive
Experience
  • Significant post registration experience within a CAMHS/Mental Health setting
  • Utilisation of research in practice
  • Experience of autonomous working around children’s mental health
  • Experience delivering consultations to other professionals or helping them formulate and understand children’s mental health needs
  • Experience designing and delivering training, adapting for different learning styles
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of current CAMHS practice and therapeutic interventions
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the legal framework relevant to CAMHS
  • Demonstration of empathy, active listening, and provision of advice
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and cooperation
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport with young people and their families quickly
