Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

Permanent position within our friendly pharmacy department for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Pharmacy Technician.

• Participate in the preparation of CIVAs, cytotoxic medicine and TPN in the aseptic unit.
• Assist in ensuring the cleaning and monitoring of the suite is maintained at an appropriate level.
• Contribute to the dispensing of prescription items for in-patients, some out-patients and discharge requests in the dispensary.
• Provide support to the medicines management service including patient own drug usage schemes.
• Monthly rotation with Dispensary and Aseptics, along with Medicines Management and ward cover when necessary.

• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Accuracy Checking Qualification, or willing to work towards the qualification.

• Worked as a technician or trainee technician in a pharmacy.

• Hospital Pharmacy experience.
• IT qualification.
• Aseptic training.
• Ward pharmacy services.
• Paediatric pharmacy experience.
• Accuracy checking.
• Used to using CMM pharmacy system.

• Careful and accurate worker.
• Able to use appropriate equipment.
• Able to work in the aseptic suite and cabinets.
• Good team worker.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Self‑motivated.
• Good organisational abilities.

Band 4 – £27,485 to £30,162 per annum.

Permanent contract – Full‑time.
