Finance Assistant

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a detail oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong transactional finance experience who is looking to develop within a structured finance function. You will support the day to day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate processing, timely reporting and compliance with internal controls.

Purchase Ledger

• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Match, batch and code invoices
• Prepare payment runs and liaise with suppliers regarding queries
• Reconcile supplier statements

Sales Ledger

• Raise sales invoices and credit notes
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
• Reconcile customer accounts

Bank & Reconciliations

• Perform regular bank reconciliations
• Post journals and assist with month end processes
• Maintain accurate financial records

Financial Administration

• Support expense processing and staff reimbursements
• Assist with VAT returns and audit preparation
• Maintain finance inbox and respond to internal and external queries
• Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting

• Experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role
• Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes
• Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Dynamics or similar
• Confident using Microsoft Excel
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders
• A proactive and organised approach
