About The Role

Bespak is looking for an onsite, permanent, Technical Support Engineer on the Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE
. The salary for this role is £60,000 to £70,000 per annum. Other benefits you will receive are 25 days leave plus bank holidays, discretionary annual bonus, generous 10% pension contribution, onsite free parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance.

Working Pattern
Days 37.5 hours Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5.00pm Friday 8:30am to 3:45pm

As a Technical Support Engineer
, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our site operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This is more than a facilities position this role combines technical facilities engineering support with project delivery responsibility.

Maintain critical infrastructure, building services, and utilities, ensuring reliability and compliance with UK regulatory, HSE, and GMP standards. As the workload increases the role will be split into two, one engineer focusing on supporting the BAU activities and one engineer focusing on the major construction projects.

Working cross-functionally with Facilities, Manufacturing, HSE, and contractors, the role supports business growth and drives continuous improvement across clean rooms and HVAC, water and process systems, CHP and site utilities, and energy management initiatives.

Bespak in Holmes Chapel is an Investors in People Silver Award-winning pharmaceutical CDMO with over 350 employees, currently going through a period of significant site expansion. We are investing heavily to increase our capacity for developing and manufacturing sustainable pMDIs (asthma inhalers) with greener propellants, meeting the evolving standards of the industry, while providing comprehensive development, manufacturing, filling, and finishing solutions for a range of medical devices, including SMIs, DPIs, nasal sprays, and medical check valves.

As

a Technical Support Engineer your duties will include:
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of site infrastructure, utilities, and building services.
  • Champion health, safety, environmental, and GMP standards across all activities.
  • Manage facilities projects from concept to completion — delivering on time and within budget.
  • Lead contractor management, including permits, RAMS, and performance monitoring.
  • Provide technical problem-solving support and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, QA, HSE, and Procurement.
  • Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives across the site.
Technical Support Engineer beneficial key skills and experience:
  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Min 5 years experience in facilities, building services, maintenance, or project engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, contractor management, and risk control.
  • Experience delivering engineering or facilities projects.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and engineering systems (e.g. CAD, CAFM, asset management tools).
Desirable:
  • Project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP).
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, CDM, CSCS, or similar.
  • Experience in GMP or cleanroom environments.
  • Understanding of RIBA stages and building lifecycle management.
