JOB PURPOSE

The Planned Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the execution, coordination, and improvement of the site’s preventative maintenance schedule. You will play a vital role in minimising downtime, improving machine reliability, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on a range of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
  • Analyse equipment performance to identify trends, root causes of failures, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Assist in spare parts management and stock level reviews.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
SKILLLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Time-served engineer with a recognised apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (e.g., ONC/HNC, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds).
  • Proven experience in a planned/preventative maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills (ideally multi-skilled).
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices.
