Are you a CE&I Safety System Design Engineer looking to make a real impact on nationally significant infrastructure? This is a high-profile opportunity to join the Silos MSSS SEP 1 & 2 programme, working at the heart of safety‑critical design in a complex, regulated environment.
You’ll be part of a specialist CE&I design team, delivering and checking Safety System design packages that underpin safe operations – while also supporting commissioning activities and mentoring the next generation of engineers.
The Role- Delivering and checking CE&I Safety System design packages to meet safety, functional and business requirements.
- Supporting and reviewing designs produced by other engineers within the team.
- Working across disciplines to ensure compliant, integrated solutions.
- Providing technical support to Commissioning activities.
- Supporting and developing early-career engineers.
This role offers a strong mix of hands‑on technical delivery, collaboration, and leadership within a highly respected programme.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards).
- 3+ years’ experience delivering CE&I Safety System design on external multi‑discipline projects.
- Proven experience from concept design through to handover.
- Working knowledge of relevant engineering standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience supporting Commissioning activities.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support junior engineers.
Desirable
- 5+ years’ experience delivering CE&I Safety System design on external and/or SL projects.
- Experience implementing new or modified safety requirements on existing systems.
- A pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach in complex, safety‑critical environments.
- Work on a long‑term, high‑profile nuclear programme.
- Competitive £51‑£55/hour (Inside IR35).
- Hybrid working with a clear on‑site/remote balance.
