Are you a CE&I Safety System Design Engineer looking to make a real impact on nationally significant infrastructure? This is a high-profile opportunity to join the Silos MSSS SEP 1 & 2 programme, working at the heart of safety‑critical design in a complex, regulated environment.

You’ll be part of a specialist CE&I design team, delivering and checking Safety System design packages that underpin safe operations – while also supporting commissioning activities and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

The Role
  • Delivering and checking CE&I Safety System design packages to meet safety, functional and business requirements.
  • Supporting and reviewing designs produced by other engineers within the team.
  • Working across disciplines to ensure compliant, integrated solutions.
  • Providing technical support to Commissioning activities.
  • Supporting and developing early-career engineers.

This role offers a strong mix of hands‑on technical delivery, collaboration, and leadership within a highly respected programme.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
  • Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards).
  • 3+ years’ experience delivering CE&I Safety System design on external multi‑discipline projects.
  • Proven experience from concept design through to handover.
  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience supporting Commissioning activities.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support junior engineers.

Desirable

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering CE&I Safety System design on external and/or SL projects.
  • Experience implementing new or modified safety requirements on existing systems.
  • A pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach in complex, safety‑critical environments.
Why Apply?
  • Work on a long‑term, high‑profile nuclear programme.
  • Competitive £51‑£55/hour (Inside IR35).
  • Hybrid working with a clear on‑site/remote balance.
  • Be part of a technically strong, supportive engineering team.
  • Opportunity to influence safety‑critical outcomes and mentor others.
