Assistant Transport Planner – Sheffield (2–4 Years’ Experience)

£30,000 – £38,000 + Benefits | Sheffield | Hybrid Working

We are supporting a respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Sheffield that is looking to expand its Transport Planning team with a talented Assistant Transport Planner (2–4 years’ experience). The team works on a strong pipeline of regional development, transport strategy and active travel projects across Yorkshire and the Midlands.

You’ll support senior colleagues in the delivery of:

• Transport Assessments & Statements for planning submissions
• Travel Plans, sustainability/access strategies and active travel inputs
• Junction capacity modelling (Junctions 9/10, Lin Sig)
• Trip generation, TRICS assessments and survey analysis
• Development access and swept-path checks
• Feasibility studies and early-stage transport appraisals
• GIS mapping, data analysis and technical reports
• Liaison with local authorities, clients, and design teams

• 2–4 years’ experience in transport planning / development planning
• Clear technical writing and analytical skills
• Experience using some of the following:
  Junctions 9/10, Lin Sig, AutoCAD, TRICS, TEMPro, GIS
• Understanding of the UK planning process and planning policy
  
  A collaborative mindset and good communication skills
• Degree in Transport, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning or similar

• Hybrid working with a modern Sheffield office
• Strong regional project pipeline across residential, commercial, education and mixed‑use schemes
