Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Transient work is possible with discussions to determine level (1, 2, or 3 weeks away per month).

This is a dual-role opportunity in the field metering engineering space, offering either a Transient Elite Engineer role (including Warrant Officer duties and some debt-related activity) or a Transient Non-Elite Dual Fuel Only role (no warrant or debt visits). The roles involve metering for gas and electricity in the commercial sector with flexible regional deployment.

• Work predominantly in the commercial sector, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of gas and electricity metering services.
• Transient pattern: travel away from home for 1–3 weeks per month (exact frequency discussed at interview); during transient weeks, travel Sunday, work Monday–Thursday (8am–7pm), return Friday. Travel time paid at overtime rates (x1.5 and x1).
• During transient weeks, receive sustenance and transient payments per night.
• Elite Engineers may undertake Warrant Officer duties and debt resolution visits with back-office support;
  Non-Elite focus on core metering duties with no warrant or debt work.
• Deliver high-quality installation, exchange, commissioning, and maintenance of metering systems and related equipment; maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Provide professional customer interactions and contribute to team and business goals.
• Be open to ongoing development and upskilling (e.g., Three-Phase, Medium Pressure, Half-Hourly/CT Metering, Gas U16–U40).
• Assist with stock, tools, and vehicle care; collaborate with colleagues and management.

• Delivery of safe, high-quality metering services (gas and electricity) with a can-do attitude.
• Support for warrant-related activities for Elite Engineers or exclusive metering focus for Non-Elite, depending on role choice.
• Compliance with all relevant standards and procedures; willingness to travel for transient work.

• Essential: Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) experience; CMA1/CCN1 + MET1 (or equivalent);
  Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent).
• Desirable: MET4 – Small Commercial Gas Metering;
  Current Transformer (CT);
  Three Phase; REGT1 – Medium Pressure.
• Full UK Driving Licence; ability to pass colour vision and DBS checks.
