Teaching Assistant – Cicely Haughton School

Required for September 2025. Full time maternity cover.
Salary £26,409 – 32.5 hours – pending pay award.
We are looking for an inspiring and imaginative teaching assistant who can support teaching to ensure learning is fun, practical and creative to provide maternity cover.
(Based at our Resource Centre in Stafford.)
The resource base at Tillington Manor Primary School in Stafford was devised in collaboration with local schools, the Local Authority and Manor Hall Academy Trust to meet the needs of the Stafford district and provide early intervention for pupils to develop their social and emotional skills through a nurture‑based approach whilst continuing their academic learning, resulting in mainstream placement success. The resource centre has a maximum of 8 pupils with a teacher and two teaching assistants.
The provision operates for 8 sessions a week, with 2 sessions utilised for supporting pupils in their mainstream schools in Stafford and Stone, and for professional development at Cicely Haughton.
The resource centre opened in January 2020, and we have seen successful pupil reintegration and positive relationships with local schools being established.
Key Responsibilities- Support teaching to make learning fun, practical and creative.
- Assist pupils in the resource centre and in their mainstream schools.
- Attend professional development sessions and maintain high standards.
- Work alongside two experienced staff members with appropriate support and supervision.
- Previous experience in a school is an advantage but not required.
- Sense of humour, resilience and the ability to maintain high standards.
- Commitment to promoting the joy of learning and the best educational opportunities for all pupils.
- Previous SEN experience not necessary – relevant training will be provided.
