Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time only (Part-time considered)

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our supportive and inclusive school community in Sheffield. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience supporting children or young people with physical disabilities and a strong commitment to enabling every learner to achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals to provide tailored support that meets individual needs, ensuring pupils can access learning in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with physical disabilities
- Assist with mobility, personal care, and use of specialist equipment where required
- Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Adapt learning materials to ensure accessibility
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social inclusion
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour at all times
- Previous experience working with children or young people with physical disabilities
- Understanding of inclusive education practices
- Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Relevant qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Level 2 or
3) - Manual handling training
- Experience using specialist mobility or communication equipment
- First Aid training
