Salary/BenefitsSalary is between £33,048 and £38,269 per annum DOE and Qualifications. 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, teacher’s pension, retail and leisure discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Note – Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for a Qualified Lecturer.

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Science (Chemistry speciality desired) to join our Health, Social Care and Childcare department at The Bedford College Group.
- Teaching & Assessment – Deliver, assess, and verify courses from Level 2 to Level 5, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences and meeting awarding body standards.
- Student Support – Guide and support learners to achieve success, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records while promoting positive behaviour and safeguarding.
- Curriculum Development – Contribute to course design, develop innovative teaching materials, and implement vocational opportunities such as employer links and work experience.
- Quality & Compliance – Participate in internal quality assurance, maintain CPD, uphold health & safety, equality, diversity, and safeguarding requirements.
- College Engagement – Take part in marketing, interviews, open days, and departmental meetings; complete administrative tasks and collaborate on new programmes.
- Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, GCSE English & Maths (A‑C), Certificate in Education (or willingness to achieve).
- Experience & Knowledge – Vocational experience in Science, awareness of current developments in specialist area, and experience working with diverse backgrounds.
- Skills & Competencies – Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, ability to meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and support high‑quality learning experiences.
- Values & Professionalism – Commitment to College values (Student‑Centred, Excellence, Teamwork, etc.), safeguarding responsibilities, and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Flexibility & Development – Willingness for CPD, adaptable working hours, ability to travel across sites, and awareness of health and safety requirements.
