Are you passionate about supporting students with additional needs? Do you have experience working with young people with SEN and want to make a meaningful impact in a secondary setting?
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within an Inclusion Resource (IR) Unit in a secondary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs in a structured and supportive environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant within the IR Unit, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs
Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement EHCP targets
Support students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes
Promote positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
Help students integrate into mainstream lessons where appropriate
This role may suit someone with experience in SEN support, youth work, care, psychology graduates, or individuals looking to pursue a career in education, therapy, or pastoral support.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based experience desirable)
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong behaviour management skills
The ability to build positive and trusting relationships
A proactive and flexible attitude
Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA, degree, or equivalent – desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
