Teacher Active are recruiting a Qualified Maths Teacher to join a specialist school in S7, working in a KS3/KS4 GCSE class. This is a temporary role that is initially expected to run until July 2026, but will likely be extended into the new school year.

The school supports students aged 7–19 with complex learning and behavioural needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and those who have experienced school refusal. The curriculum is delivered through a Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) model, where core subjects such as Maths, English, Science, History and Geography are embedded into practical land-based and craft activities. Learning is contextualised through experiences such as green woodwork, pottery, horticulture and drama, enabling students to engage with the national curriculum in a meaningful and accessible way while developing confidence, communication skills and independence.

The school draws inspiration from Rudolf Steiner’s educational philosophy, recognising the value of practical and creative activities in supporting holistic development. The PSTE approach focuses on nurturing students academically, emotionally and socially, guided by the Trust’s Seven Fields of Practice

We are looking for someone with the following:

Qualified Teacher Status
Excellent knowledge of GCSE Maths curriculum
Strong behavioural management skills
Expert understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
Experience in working with students with SEND
