Position: Become a Tutor

Overview

We are currently recruiting for tutors in Sheffield! At Prospero, we work with local councils and schools to arrange 1:1 tuitions for students in need of extra provisions. We're looking hardworking, dedicated tutors who are eager to help students in their learning journey! The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children within the UK, whether that be in a classroom setting, 1:1 tutoring, or in support and pastoral roles.

Location: S12, within the student home
Start Date: ASAP, if you re cleared for work, or February 2026
End Date: Ongoing
Hours: 6 hours (3 hours English and 3 hours Maths per week)
Pay: GBP
20 - GBP
30 per hour
The Role: English and Maths tuition for a Year 7 student working below ARE. SEN experience desired.

Requirements

Please note:

Have a Right to Work within the UK.

Have at least 4 months experience working with children in the UK.

Have a DBS registered on the update service (ideal, but not required, as you can apply for a DBS through us!)

Registration for new applicants

Please note:

To hold Right to Work within the UK

At least 4 months experience working with children within the UK.

An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (recommended but not required as you can apply for a DBS through us directly).

A minimum of two professional references from work within the last two years, and professional references covering any work you ve had with children or vulnerable adults within the last two years.
