Pastoral Officer – Secondary School
Location: Sheffield Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time
A supportive and forward‑thinking secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a committed Pastoral Officer to support student wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement across the school. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference to young people’s lives.
The Role- Provide day‑to‑day pastoral support to students, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing
- Monitor attendance, behaviour, and safeguarding concerns, supporting early intervention
- Work closely with teaching staff, Heads of Year, SENCo, parents, and external agencies
- Support vulnerable students, including those with SEND and SEMH needs
- Contribute to a positive school culture and improved student engagement
- A welcoming and inclusive secondary school environment
- Strong leadership with a clear focus on safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Ongoing professional development and training opportunities
- A collaborative, supportive staff team
- Have experience in a pastoral, safeguarding, or student support role within a secondary school
- Be confident supporting students with behavioural, emotional, or complex needs
- Demonstrate strong communication, organisation, and relationship‑building skills
- Be passionate about supporting young people’s personal and academic development
