SEN Teaching Assistant Job in Sheffield – Primary School Vacancy

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary School, Sheffield)

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

  • Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties

  • Deliver targeted interventions set by the class teacher and SENCO

  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual pupil needs

  • Promote emotional regulation, confidence, and independence

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals

You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum and achieve their full potential within a mainstream primary setting.

SEN TA Requirements

To be considered for this Sheffield SEN Teaching Assistant role, you should have:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • The right to work in the UK

Experience delivering EHCP-based support plans is highly advantageous.
