SEND Teaching Assistant

We are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established and welcoming primary school in the S20 area. This is an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child’s learning journey.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 2 pupil, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum alongside their peers in the classroom environment. This role is ideal for a SEND Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 support as a SEND Teaching Assistant for a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

* Assist the child in accessing classroom learning and activities

* Implement strategies to support academic, social, and emotional development

* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans

* Encourage independence and confidence in learning

* Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar role

* Experience working with children with SEND

* A good understanding of different additional needs and how to support them

* Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills

* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
