About the Department

Our Music Department is where passion meets performance, where compositions are built, voices can be found, and students’ ideas come alive. We aim to inspire students to explore sound, master skills, and make music that matters. We have worked over the past year to develop a new outstanding Music curriculum for all year groups. We teach KS3 for one hour per week, which leads into exam classes in year 10 and 11, where we follow the GCSE Eduqas Music specification.

We offer a full spectrum of Music enrichment after school, culminating in a number of performance evenings and events, and our students are enthusiastic about the subject, the students have access to Music tutoring for all year groups, specifically to support with their final GCSE performances.

Music and Drama is what creates our Performing Arts Department, and collaboration across our team of staff is crucial. As well as support from the Head of Department, you will also be supported by the Trust’s Director and have the opportunity to share practice with academies across the Trust.
