About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism and ADHD to join our specialist school in Sheffield (S12). This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs in a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism and ADHD

Support the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

Assist in managing behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies

Create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment

Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social skills

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider multidisciplinary team

Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem in pupils

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience working with children or young people with Autism and/or ADHD

A strong understanding of neurodiversity and inclusive practice

Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for SEN education

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential)
