Are you someone who can confidently supervise a classroom, maintain positive behaviour, and support students to stay engaged in their learning?

GSL Education are inviting applications for Cover Supervisors to work within schools across Sheffield
, specifically covering the S2 and S3 postcodes
, providing reliable classroom supervision during teacher absence.

As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning by delivering pre-set work, managing classroom behaviour, and creating a calm and structured learning environment where students can remain focused and motivated.

• Supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher and deliver pre-planned lessons.
• Maintain classroom discipline in line with school behaviour policies.
• Support students to stay on task and complete assigned work.
• Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour and escalate concerns when required.
• Ensure the safety, welfare, and safeguarding of all students at all times.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student behaviour and lesson outcomes.

• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, organised, and professional under pressure.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• A responsible and committed approach to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
