Teaching Assistant

Overview

We are looking for a capable and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a school in Sheffield. The school is thriving and is enthusiastic about supporting their students to reach their full potential whilst gaining valuable skills and experiences for outside the classroom and to use in their future. The role will be supporting students in Year 5, Monday-Friday. The role will initially be temporary but may become permanent for the right individual with the right skills.

• Support Year 5 students, including small groups and 1:1 support as needed.
• Collaborate effectively within a team and follow lesson plans and directions from teaching staff while able to work independently when required.
• Assist with reinforcing phonics and literacy strategies and contribute to a supportive classroom environment.

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Knowledge of the curriculum
• Understanding of Phonics, Read Write Inc
• Ability to communicate clearly with children and maintain a caring, nurturing approach
• Resilient, attentive and adaptable to ensure continuity for the students
