We are a specialistcladding contractor based in Manchester, delivering façade and external envelope packages across the north of England and Wales. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit aGraduate Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding commercial team, based in our Sheffield City Centre office.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to develop their career within a specialist contractor environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to live projects from tendering, pre-construction through to handover. The company acts as main- and sub-contractor on a range of both fire remediation, refurbishment and new build schemes.

You may also be required to provide some assistance to the operations or site teams.

Key Responsibilities

You will report directly to the Commercial Director and be responsible for:

  • Assisting with cost control, budgeting, forecasting
  • Assisting with negotiations with Client and subcontractors
  • Supporting the preparation of contractual arrangements with supply chain
  • Ordering of materials
  • Organising of labour
  • Supporting preparation of valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and tender comparisons
  • Measurement and take-offs from drawings and specifications
  • Supporting monthly cost reports and commercial meetings
About You
  • Degree qualified (or soon to be) in a construction related degree or a strong academic background and general knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Interest in façades, cladding and fire remediation works
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Well organised, proactive and eager to learn
  • Adaptable
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
