Due to the award of a new long‑term fire alarm servicing and maintenance contract commencing February 2026, Albion Detection Systems Ltd is expanding its engineering team and is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to support works across Sheffield. This role will support a major NHS estate operated by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS teaching hospital trusts in the UK, covering multiple acute hospital sites and complex healthcare environments.
Systems& environment
The estate primarily utilises Advanced and Morley fire alarm systems. Engineers will be involved in servicing, fault finding, testing, and small works on these platforms within live healthcare settings.
Key responsibilities- Servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis and minor works on fire alarm systems
- Working on Advanced and Morley control panels and associated field devices
- Working safely in live healthcare environments in line with NHS permit‑to‑work and infection control procedures
- Completing accurate service reports and certification
- Liaising professionally with client representatives and site teams
- Complying fully with NHS policies, procedures, and values
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer
- Strong working knowledge of BS 5839
- Experience with Advanced and/or Morley fire alarm panels
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional attitude and excellent attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working in hospitals or other critical environments
- Manufacturer training on Advanced or Morley systems
- Cause & effect testing experience
- Long‑term, stable work on a major NHS contract
