About The Role

Our client is an established and respected organisation within the scientific instrumentation sector. They design and manufacture specialist equipment used in life sciences, medical research, and related technical fields. Join a friendly and dynamic production team based in Sheffield Business Park. This role involves testing a range of specialist instruments, supporting production engineers with assembly, and providing technical assistance to the service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct post-production testing of instruments.
  • Test units prior to customer shipment.
  • Identify faults and communicate issues for rework if required.
  • Perform basic fault-finding and attempt resolution where possible.
  • Complete all relevant test documentation and certificates.
  • Support production with sub-assembly tasks during quieter testing periods.
  • Provide technical support to internal departments when needed.

We want someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about learning. You should be proactive in improving processes and committed to delivering high-quality results.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong computer literacy, including confident use of Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Practical, hands-on approach (work experience or personal hobbies such as DIY welcomed).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Minimum of four GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above.
Desirable
  • Driving licence (or working towards).
  • Experience with soldering.
