Admin Officer - Sheffield
OverviewHM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) invites applications for the permanent Civil Service Grade AO position within Criminal Fines Collection and Enforcement. The role is based in the Sheffield office, in Yorkshire and the Humber, and is fully or partially remote with flexible working arrangements.

- Create and update records in the in‑house computer system related to criminal fines and enforcement decisions.
- Contact relevant parties to advise on completion of forms or court procedures and provide excellent customer service.
- Make decisions on the most effective method of enforcement within current guidelines using telephone, text message chasing, and tracing tools.
- Engage with managers, courts, and other internal and external stakeholders to collect information, check facts, and enforce judicial decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Empathy, non‑judgemental attitude, and focus on delivering customer service to people in difficult situations.
- Organise time, prioritise efficiently, multi‑task and adapt to various software packages.
- Ability to assess circumstances swiftly and adapt accordingly.
- Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week.
- Hybrid Working arrangements are available where business need allows; a minimum of 60 % of working time must be spent in an office.
- Annual leave: 25 days on appointment (increases to 30 days after five years of service).
