About Alexander Land Surveying, Inc.

Position SummaryManage surveying projects from proposal through completion
Responsible for both technical execution and financial performance of assigned projects
Provide leadership and coordination for field and office staff
Report directly to the Director of Surveying and collaborate with firm leadership
Key Responsibilities- Manage surveying projects from kickoff through final delivery
- Coordinate and schedule field crews, drafting staff, and project resources
- Review, seal, and certify survey plats, legal descriptions, and related documents
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and agencies
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and contractual requirements
- Manage project budgets, track hours and costs, and ensure financial targets are met
- Assist with scope development, fee proposals, and change orders
- Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, scope, or budget issues
- Mentor junior staff and support professional development
- Collaborate with leadership on workflow, standards, and process improvements
- Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Alabama
- If not currently licensed in Alabama, licensure must be obtained within 6 months of employment
- Strong knowledge of boundary principles, ALTA/NSPS standards, and land records research
- PVA Proven experience managing surveying projects and teams
- Ability to independently review and approve technical deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- PLS licensure in Tennessee or surrounding states
- Experience with FEMA-related work (LOMA, LOMR-F, CLOMR-F)
- Construction layout and coordination experience
- Experience supervising or mentoring field crews and drafters
- Proficiency with Carlson, AutoCAD, or similar survey software
- Experience with Carlson GNSS equipment
