Location:

HMP Swaleside, a Category B male prison.

Salary: £14,422.21.

Contract:

Part‑time, 22 hours per week (Monday‑Friday).

We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to join our Facilities Maintenance team at HMP Swaleside. The role contributes to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors by ensuring high standards of cleaning and hygiene across the prison.

You will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues – from plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, to cleaners and administrators – to support a secure and healthy environment for all.

• Experience of working within a cleaning environment.
• Knowledge of COSHH.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
