The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is currently seeking part‑time capable individuals to support our organization and provide a fulfilling experience for all employees. Prior experience in sales or agriculture, working with diverse personalities, and possessing basic mathematical skills are highly desirable.
The Field Enumerator plays a vital role in supporting agricultural producers by collecting accurate and unbiased data. Enumerators conduct professional in‑person and telephone interviews with a diverse range of agricultural operations and perform crop counts in designated fields.
All enumerators receive comprehensive on‑the‑job training for specific studies on animal and plant health, farming practices, procedures, and questionnaires required for the job.
Responsibilities include:
collecting and entering detailed data from operators in a timely manner, reporting daily progress, time, and mileage, and ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
- Provide on‑the‑job training, flexibility, opportunities for professional advancement, and start at $17.75 plus mileage reimbursement and required supplies.
- Mandatory: private workspace with a functional telephone and minimal distractions; private vehicle for travel; flexibility to work evenings and weekends; proficiency with computer systems and/or iPads; experience in a deadline‑driven environment with multiple tasks.
- Physical requirements:
examine crop status in corn or soybean fields; lift/carry up to 40 lbs.; walk unassisted on uneven ground for up to 100 yards; travel up to 250 miles quarterly for training as needed.
