Athletic Trainer - Kohler High School (Kohler, WI)
Position:
Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
Athletic Trainers at Prevea Health are responsible for ensuring the provision of comprehensive medical care and oversight of sports medicine services at the assigned educational institution following Prevea Health guidelines and procedures. This position provides athletic training services for assigned sports including injury and illness evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, referrals, maintaining timely and accurate medical records, and coordinating medical care following the physician's plan of care.
Whatyou will do
- Serve as the primary athletic training and medical contact for all sports, teams, and community events while coordinating all medical care for assigned student‑athletes. This includes but is not limited to offering onsite practice/workout support, event coverage, accompanying the team during travel, coordinating communication between injured athletes, outside physicians, coaching staff and family members, and working with the medical director, athletic director, all program coaches, and strength and conditioning staff regarding participation status and limitations.
- Perform administrative duties, including accurate documentation of patient/athlete encounters, maintaining insurance information, providing guidance on insurance/billing questions, scheduling follow‑up appointments, and serving as a liaison between the Sports Medicine Department and other medical services within Prevea Sports Medicine, HSHS, and other area medical health systems.
- Ensure adherence to privacy, OSHA, and healthcare regulations at federal, state, university, conference, NCAA, and WIAA levels, developing and enforcing procedures to guarantee all student‑athletes meet participation requirements.
- Coordinate and document patient care through Prevea's secure electronic medical record systems, Sportsware, Epic, and Doc Halo, communicating with all providers to provide HIPAA‑compliant specialized care for athletes.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Athletic Training program (required).
- Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years of professional athletic training experience (preferred).

- State of Wisconsin Athletic Training License (required at hire).
- Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATA BOC) (required at hire).
- CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from an approved program (required at hire).
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the NSCA or Strength & Conditioning Certification by the CSCCA (preferred at hire).
- Certification in specialty area (e.g., skin‑fold testing, casting, dry needling, etc.) (preferred at hire).
- Occasional sitting; frequent standing, walking, bending (neck, waist), occasional climbing; lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently, 11–25 lbs. occasionally, 26–35 lbs. rarely, 36–50 lbs. rarely.
