Overview
Position Summary - Responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the health and well-being of the residents within the community.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Ensures that the community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations as they pertain to clinical care.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports occurrence trends; when necessary, develops and implements improvement plans.
- Partners with the Administrator and other team members to analyze and maintain all resident and team member health safety.
- Partners with the pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents.
- Is responsible for infection control programming in the community.
- Oversees the safe and efficient distribution and administration of injections, nebulizers, and moderate wound care per state regulations.
- Identifies ongoing needs and services of residents through the assessment/service plan process, including documentation for residents with a change in health care status.
- Completes monthly updates and reporting to the responsible party.
- Collaborates with other department coordinators to identify, review, and discuss potential changes in service/medication levels and updates the resident’s service plan as indicated by state regulations.
- Participates in community awareness activities and community relations; maintains communications with resident’s family and/or responsible party regarding changes in care or health concerns.
- Informs the Business Office of fee changes related to care needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Educational Requirements And Experience- Maintains current state license as a Licensed Professional Nurse or a Professional Registered Nurse per state regulations.
- Experience in assisted living, home health or long-term care industries.
- Two (2) years experience as a Licensed Nurse.
- One (1) year nursing management experience.
- Must demonstrate competence in assessment skills, injections/medication administration, follow up and triage.
Skills And Abilities
- Language Ability:
Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents. - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and convert units of measure. - Cognitive Demands:
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. - Computer
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications. - Competencies:
Demonstrates an interest in working with a senior population; interacts with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner; responds promptly to resident needs; supports organization’s goals and values; balances team and individual responsibilities; ability to handle multiple priorities; ability to delegate assignments; strong organizational and time management skills; demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills; ability to work a flexible schedule.
