About

The Role

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated professional to join our team as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor
. In this role, you will work directly with clients to assess needs, create personalized treatment plans, and provide counseling to support recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders.

What You'll Do
  • Provide individual and group counseling for clients struggling with substance use disorders.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualized treatment plans and goals.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support to clients in need.
  • Educate clients and their families about substance use, recovery, and relapse prevention.
  • Monitor client progress, maintain accurate documentation, and provide regular reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal guidelines in substance abuse counseling.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold client privacy rights.
What It Takes
  • Degree in a Human Services related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Substance Use Disorder Counselor Certification preferred (SAC, CSAC).
  • Minimum of one year of applicable experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Maintain a valid state of Wisconsin Driver's License, as well as the ability to pass the requirements to operate a company vehicle.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent interviewing and assessment skills in delivering trauma informed care and motivational interviewing
  • Knowledge and solid working understanding of human growth and behavior, addictions, recovery and co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge and solid working understanding of current social and economic problems of mental illness, homelessness, poverty, alcohol and other drug addictions, and developmental disabilities and the way these problems affect the individual and family.
