Common Lit is seeking experienced educators based in the Midwest region (IL, MI, OH, IN, MN, WI) to serve as Professional Development Facilitators (Part‑Time, Contractor). Facilitators will lead on‑site professional development for school and district partners adopting and implementing Common Lit 360, with additional opportunities to deliver virtual PD throughout the year. This role is ideal for former teacher leaders, instructional coaches, or school leaders who are passionate about adult learning, curriculum implementation, and improving literacy outcomes at scale.

• You were highly successful as a teacher, coach, or school leader and were obsessed with ensuring all students had access to grade‑level work and the necessary tools to succeed.
• You are comfortable with and excited about leading adult learning. You have led professional development sessions for educators that are engaging and have helped drive academic success, and you can communicate effectively with teacher practitioners, school leaders, and stakeholders.
• You enjoy solving problems and supporting educators, working with schools implementing Common Lit 360 for the first time and strategically solving problems using best practices and collaborative problem solving.
• You are eager to build new skills and are receptive to feedback, love learning new things, and challenge yourself.
• You are highly familiar with Common Lit and have used its products successfully, especially Common Lit 360. Candidates who have taught or supported the implementation of the curriculum will receive special attention.
• You have a flexible schedule and enjoy travel.

• Willingness to travel within the Midwest (including overnight travel) to deliver on‑site professional development, up to once per week between June and September.
• Expected availability of up to 20 hours per week during peak season (June–September), including travel, facilitation, preparation, and follow‑up.
• Willingness to travel beyond the Midwest on an as‑needed basis, including for two in‑person training days in late spring.
• Opportunity to facilitate both on‑site and virtual PD sessions during the school year as demand allows.
• Virtual sessions typically occur between 8:00 AM–7:00 PM ET.

• Travel to facilitate day‑long, on‑site professional development sessions for schools adopting and implementing Common Lit 360.
• Lead virtual professional learning sessions aligned to Common Lit’s instructional program.
• Prepare for and follow up on PD sessions, including training, internal meetings, and required documentation.
• Collaborate with Common Lit’s Professional Development and Account Management teams.
• Develop and maintain deep expertise in Common Lit 360 instructional tools and PD offerings.

• 5+ years of experience as an ELA teacher, instructional coach, or school leader.
• 1+ years of experience facilitating engaging, outcomes‑driven professional development.
• Strong command of best practices in ELA instruction and adult learning.
• Receptiveness to feedback and coaching.
• Familiarity with Common Lit’s instructional resources; experience with Common Lit 360 curriculum strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to fly and drive required.
• Based in the Midwest, with proximity to a major airport.

• Starts at $35/hour for hourly activities such as virtual PD facilitation, PD preparation and follow‑up, internal meetings, and training.
• $600–$700 per day for on‑site, full‑day PD sessions (rate depends on session content).
• Pre‑approved travel expenses (air/train, lodging, ground transportation) booked or reimbursed by Common Lit.
