Position Summary

The Forecast Analyst / Production Scheduler will compare forecasted need for finished goods and work-in-process to North American capacity. The incumbent will plan and manage scheduling of available capacity to meet forecasted need and timelines.

Specific Responsibilities Forecasting
  • Manage the execution of product introductions, SKU conversions, and program changes as related to forecasting, planning, and scheduling.
  • Participate on product inventory teams to meet customer demand by developing collaborative forecast with Marketing and Sales at Customer and SKU Level.
  • Aim to achieve forecast accuracy objectives, using Gains.
  • Develop and maintain functional relationships with customer personnel (includes occasional visits).
  • Control inventory levels and movement of finished goods into their organization.
  • Monitor global forecast requirements and conversions ensuring requirements are visible in all systems to meet customer requirements.
  • Support the capacity planning process, working with production planners and operations to optimize corporate tooling, machinery, and departmental resources.
  • Assist in capacity analysis and production requirements associated with Customer Product Mix changes.
  • Identify potential constraints and possible solutions.
Planning
  • Balance forecasted needs against available capacity to coordinate scheduling.
  • Manage daily inventory transactions for manufacturing department (cycle counts, investigate discrepancies etc.)
  • Manage tool planning and placement.
  • Recommend tool modifications and additions as needed to meet BPG mission and objectives.
  • Interface with other Demand Planning staff to support the goals and objectives of Demand Management (Quality of Service and Inventory etc.)
  • Maintain and enhance Demand Planning systems used in the production planning process.
  • Target, quantify, and execute cost reduction and/or cost avoidance initiatives within the department.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Manufacturing to assure adequate manpower levels meet scheduling requirements.
  • Manage work-in-process and finished goods inventories to support Demand Management Quality of Service and inventory turn objectives.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing and Procurement and Component Planning in the selection and installation of subcontractors.
  • Monitor production levels to assure they meet expectations.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • CPIM certification within 2 years.
  • 0-3 years of experience.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Indoor office setting, controlled temperature.
  • 40+ hours per week.
  • Minimal lifting, up to 20lbs. Minimal bending and reaching.
  • May be required to enter manufacturing operations where safety toe shoes, protective eye wear, and hearing protection is required.
