The Impact You'll Make

Operates and setups of conventional, numerical control (NC), and special purpose machines and machining centers to machine metal components by performing the following duties.

This is a 1st Shift position, shift hours 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work area.
  • Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety.
  • Follows all standard work, control plans, all processes and quality guidelines.
  • Must be able to operate multiple machines and perform all Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities as required and have experience working with automation (Robotics).
  • Verify that machine is running at proper cycle time.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Diagnose and rectify normal problems on machines and verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Responds with commitment and sensitivity toward satisfying the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Promotes quality and continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Evaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make timely decisions that are intended to have a positive effect on work performance.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and has the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance.
  • Apply creative approaches and ideas to solve problems maximizing effective use of appropriate resources.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in approach and ideas, responds positively and supports changes in procedures, process, technology, responsibility and assignments.
  • Maintains cooperative and productive working relationships and communications with all employees, participating effectively as a team member or as a team leader. Encourages and assists in self‑improvement.
  • Possess appropriate personal tools as required.
  • Confers with and instructs other classifications in care and use of machines, equipment, and techniques required.
What We're Looking For
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    High school diploma/GED; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
