Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
We are seeking a Senior Accountant who thrives in a hands‑on, operational environment. This role goes beyond traditional accounting — it is deeply integrated with manufacturing operations, job costing, and financial performance management. The Senior Accountant position is responsible for preparing and evaluating all financial statements and associated supporting documents. Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance. Time management, decision‑making and strong communication skills are vital.
As a small business, every team member plays a visible and meaningful role. This is an on‑site position that works directly with operations, engineering, contracts, and executive leadership. Requires a willingness to work outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines, if necessary.
Responsibilities- Prepare financial statements and project‑level reporting
- Lead monthly close process in a lean accounting environment
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Maintain internal controls over financial reporting
- Support annual audit and external reporting requirements
- Assist with budget planning and prepare budget vs. actual analysis
- Protect organizational value by keeping information confidential
- Monitor contract funding and revenue recognition
- Assist with incurred cost submissions and audit preparation
- Support proposal pricing with realistic cost inputs
- Provide operational financial insights to leadership
- Help implement scalable processes as the company grows
- Other duties as assigned
Reports To: Controller
Qualifications Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in Accounting/Finance
- Financial statement preparation and understanding; experience with financial reporting requirements
- Experience with ERP system or other automated accounting system – Deltek Costpoint or similar ERP is a plus
- Experience with financial reporting requirements
- Working knowledge of FAR and indirect rate structures is a plus
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing and government contracting environment is a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
