Job Overview
ECS is seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair fleet vehicles, trailers, and surface preparation equipment. This full‑time, hands‑on role is essential in supporting field operations by ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable, and job‑site ready. You’ll play a key role in minimizing downtime, supporting crews, and keeping operations running smoothly across nationwide projects.

Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on trucks, vans, trailers, and machinery.
- Inspect and service trailers (brakes, axles, suspension, lighting, DOT inspections).
- Maintain and repair surface prep equipment: grinders, shot blasters, scarifiers, vacuums, mixers, etc.
- Manage and execute daily, weekly, and monthly PM schedules.
- Conduct safety inspections (E‑stops, grounding, guards, tires, brakes, etc.).
- Maintain accurate service records, logs, and repair documentation.
- Manage parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for specialty repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized shop and follow LOTO and safety protocols.
- Support crews with equipment orientation and usage best practices.
- Respond to urgent maintenance needs, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
- 3+ years of mechanic experience (fleet, trailers, industrial equipment preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical; hydraulic/pneumatic a plus).
- Ability to interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Experience with PM schedules and maintenance documentation.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required).
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Safety‑first mindset and high attention to detail.
- Organized, dependable, and self‑directed.
- Effective communication with field crews and leadership.
- Comfortable using basic digital tracking or software tools.
Competitive pay: $35.00 – $45.00+ per hour (based on experience). Paid Time Off (PTO). Paid Holidays. Additional benefits available based on eligibility per ECS plans.
ScheduleFull‑Time. Monday–Friday. Occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
LocationBased out of Shawnee, KS (Kansas City metro). Occasional travel to job sites may be required.
