* + Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient conditions and needs.

+ Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to address identified patient needs and goals.

+ Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.

+ Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

+ Provide patient and family education about the care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure understanding and compliance.

** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
* - Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.

- Basic computer skills - must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs.

- Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).

- 1 year of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.

- Equipment use to stabilize and monitor patients (IV insertion, central lines, pulse ox, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamics monitoring), including electronic medical record and automated dispensing medication system (pyxis).

- Proficient clinical skills, critical thinking skills, and strong communication skills.

- Commitment to hourly patient rounding and EKG interpretation class.

- Frequent independent judgment, sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills in clinical situations, including clinical assessment, data, and patient response.

- Ability to continuously prioritize multiple duties and function in a calm and professional manner during stressful situations.

- General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, and the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications.

- Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to create an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility.

- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner which encourages the open exchange of ideas and information.

- Will float to appropriate departments within scope, skill/ability, and credentials.

- Organizational and multi-tasking skills, knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures, and the ability to work as a team player within a unit.

- Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.

- EKG (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements).
