Job Description:

ADM Animal Nutrition, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company, is an industry leader in the manufacture of extruded treats and foods for the companion animal market. We are seeking a Production Supervisor for the Shawnee, KS warehouse and production facility. This is a full-time exempt position. The role is On-Site at the location detailed in the job post. • Directs the operation of the plant facility within established quality, housekeeping, safety and environmental guidelines set by the company.
• Coordinates daily operations performed by hourly production employees to ensure safe and efficient work while meeting environmental quality, housekeeping and quantity levels.
• Makes work assignments to shift personnel to utilize experience, training and ability.
• Ensures the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
• Maintains an attitude that incidents are preventable.
• Provides employees with resources and training needed to operate or wear personal protective equipment safely.
• Offers recommendations for improvements to safety, environmental programs, quality, GMPs, and production/material handling procedures.
• Recognizes hazards and addresses them to maintain employee safety, product quality and environmental purity.
• Communicates concerns for environment, health, safety and product quality to all employees; listens to and responds to employee suggestions and concerns.
• Addresses employee concerns, maintains morale on shift and within departments; informs plant management of matters affecting morale and safety.
• Encourages safe work practices with environmental awareness and GMPs, leading by example.
• Identifies training needs and develops a training plan with Plant Superintendent; works with employees to develop job proficiency.
• May perform production duties temporarily in emergencies or due to employee absence.
• Evaluates employee performance and provides regular feedback.
• Attends operation area meetings, safety meetings and supervisor meetings.
• Analyzes safety incidents by preparing Incident Analyses within 24 hours and suggests improvements.
• Maintains discipline within the shift and discusses disciplinary actions with the Plant Superintendent and Plant Manager.
• Conducts GMP, safety, health and environmental inspections; evaluates management programs; provides positive reinforcement for safe and productive performance.
• Drives colleagues’ engagement in safety and continuous improvement efforts.
• May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required.

High School/GED

Manufacturing

• Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of manufacturing and/or warehousing experience
• Experience with pneumatic conveyors
• 1-2 years of production supervisor/lead experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.)
• Ability to team build
• Ability to train
• Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
• Accurate record keeping skills
• ADM requires the successful completion of a background check
• Base pay offered may vary based on factors including location, knowledge, skills and experience; overtime eligible for non-exempt employees
