CPS Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator with a minimum of 3 years in commercial construction estimating. This role is critical to our preconstruction process and overall project success.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment—especially on bid days. You’ll work closely with subcontractors, vendors, project managers, and leadership to deliver accurate, competitive, and comprehensive project estimates.

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and documentation to develop complete estimates
• Develop and distribute bid packages to subcontractors and vendors
• Clearly define scope of work and level subcontractor proposals to ensure full coverage
• Identify value engineering and cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining quality
• Maintain and update unit cost databases and estimating tools
• Negotiate, prepare, and execute subcontractor and vendor agreements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, architects, and engineers
• Participate in preconstruction and project turnover meetings
• Support project managers and field teams in maintaining budgets and schedules
• Evaluate subcontractor performance and maintain a qualified bidders list
• Review contracts and documents to identify risk and ensure scope clarity
• Assist in identifying and pursuing new project opportunities

• Minimum 3 years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and perform under pressure
• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational ability
• Proficient with estimating software, spreadsheets, and construction management technology
