Reports ToInbound Supervisor/Manager
Scope of PositionThe Inbound Receiving Coordinator is responsible for assisting the supervisors and managers with training and managing the workflow on the inbound receiving dock. The Distribution Center is a fast-paced, high-volume 600,000 square foot state of the art Automotive Distribution center in Shawnee, KS.
Responsibilities and Duties- Schedule and tracking of inbound receiving activities.
- Researching issues that are staged in the problem area of the dock.
- Work discrepancies on inbound shipments (daily).
- Assist with workload management as needed.
- Assist with training on Material Support and Box Handlers.
- Monitoring inbound parts that are required to improve fill levels.
- File appropriate freight claims with carriers if needed.
- Monitor and manage reports such as the Inspection report.
- Communicate issues with local management as well as manufacturing locations.
- Special project work when needed.
- Position requires a high school diploma or its equivalent (College Degree Preferred).
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of transportation related experience and familiar with computer related programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Experience with the JD Edwards operating system with prior experience in a WMS environment preferred.
- Good communication skills and follow instructions/directions with minor supervision.
- General understanding of the transportation and able to schedule loads in the Traffic Management System.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Other physical demands: standing and walking; occasional bending/stooping; exposure to hot, cold, and dust.
- May require work during seasonal demands on alternate shift including evenings and weekends.
