Offset Web Pressman

The largest Wisconsin newspaper producer is looking to add a skilled offset web pressman to their team!

• Setting up and operating presses:
  Loading paper, making adjustments for paper size, and ensuring correct pressure and registration between plates and ink.
• Monitoring print quality:
  Adjusting ink and water balance, and ensuring print quality meets specifications.
• Troubleshooting and maintenance:
  Making minor repairs, cleaning equipment, and performing routine maintenance.
• Maintaining equipment:
  Changing plates, blankets, and cylinders as needed.
• Ink management:
  Obtaining or mixing inks and filling ink fountains.
• File management:
  Downloading or scanning files, adjusting digital files, and inputting job settings.
• Production tracking:
  Maintaining time or production records, controlling workflow, and tracking jobs.
• Inventory management:
  Monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies.
• Environmental monitoring:
  Monitoring humidity and temperature and making necessary adjustments.
• Training and supervision:
  Potentially training and developing press crews, directing or monitoring their work.

• Mechanical aptitude:
  Understanding of printing press mechanics and ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Attention to detail:
  Ensuring accuracy in print quality and meeting specifications.
• Good color perception:
  Ability to identify and correct color inconsistencies.
• Communication skills:
  Working with other pressmen and supervisors.
• Teamwork:
  Working collaboratively with other pressmen departments.
• Time management:
  Meeting deadlines and completing jobs on time.
• Problem-solving:
  Identifying and resolving issues during print runs.
