Diesel Technician

Overview

Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Sharonville, Ohio. This is a permanent full-time position.

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools when applicable.
• Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replace defective components as instructed and work unsupervised on most tasks.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the issue and determine appropriate actions.
• Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation; comply with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and access internal/external maintenance documents.
• Support additional duties as required to aid operations (e.g., Service Island support).
• Achieve SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
  220) and complete OEM online diagnostic courses as required by location.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/Technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred; basic tools required.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience preferred; valid CDL Class A preferred; all location-specific certifications required or as applicable.
• Must have minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment.
• Strong computer skills (PC, Windows) and ability to learn maintenance management systems.

  Sunday–Thursday.
• Hours:
  
  Second shift 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm.
• Hourly pay: $39.58 per hour.
• Certification bonus up to $700; quarterly bonus up to $500 per quarter.
