Sharon Middle School is seeking a 1.0 Long-Term Sub for a School Adjustment Counselor.
Full time 7:30 - 2:30 M-F
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individual and small-group counseling focused on social-emotional learning, self-regulation, peer relationships, conflict resolution, and coping skills.
* Facilitate social-emotional learning groups.
* Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention as needed.
* Develop and implement behavior intervention strategies and support plans.
* Support students with school adjustment challenges, including attendance concerns, anxiety, peer conflict, and family transitions.
* Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and support staff to develop strategies that promote student success.
* Participate in Student Support Team (SST) and 504 meetings as appropriate.
* Provide consultation to staff on classroom management, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.
* Communicate regularly with families to provide updates, strategies, and referrals when needed.
* Promote positive school climate initiatives
* Assist in developing and implementing school-wide behavioral expectations and supports.
* Maintain accurate, confidential student records in compliance with FERPA and state regulations.
* Coordinate with outside providers and community agencies.
* Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
Required:
* Master's degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
* Appropriate state licensure or certification as a School Adjustment Counselor, School Social Worker, or equivalent.
* Experience working with middle school-aged students.
* Strong knowledge of adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, and behavioral interventions.
Preferred:
* Experience in a middle school setting.
* Training in restorative practices, crisis prevention/intervention, or social-emotional learning programs.
