Senior Cost Accountant

This role is a dynamic, analytical position in the Accounting + Finance space. The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad spectrum of financial and accounting matters affecting the company, including budgeting, cost management, cost accounting, inventory, performance evaluation, and operational decision making. A strong background in manufacturing accounting, margin analysis, and Oracle is preferred.

• Lead financial reporting for cost, inventory, and sales analysis, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
• Participate in the monthly close process, preparing journal entries and closing associated Oracle Modules related to Revenue, Cost of Sales and Inventory.
• Prepare all post-closing inventory analysis and supporting schedules including the monthly reconciliation of perpetual inventory records to the general ledger.
• Conduct detailed cost and margin analysis to drive margin improvement across the business.
• Collaborate with Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations managers to optimize inventory performance.
• Prepare the key manufacturing metrics monthly highlighting key trends.
• Develop and analyze sales forecasts, integrating actuals, backlog, and projections.
• Oversee cycle counts, physical inventory processes, and variance analysis, identifying key trends.
• Provide critical ad-hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required;
  Master’s degree or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Margin Analysis, Manufacturing Accounting, Oracle and other financial software.
• Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
• Demonstrated ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
