Position Summary
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is the senior nursing leader responsible for overseeing all nursing services across the organization. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care in alignment with UAE healthcare regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., DOH, DHA, MOHAP, JCI), and the organization’s strategic goals. The CNO provides leadership in clinical governance, workforce planning, staff development, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership- Develop and implement the nursing strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient experience, clinical quality, and nursing efficiency.
- Participate in executive‑level decision‑making, planning, and policy formation.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulatory standards and accreditation requirements (DOH, DHA, MOHAP, JCI).
- Oversee nursing audits, incident reporting, infection control practices, and patient safety programs.
- Implement evidence‑based nursing practices and quality improvement projects.
- Oversee day‑to‑day nursing operations across all departments and clinical units.
- Ensure appropriate nurse‑to‑patient ratios and optimal workforce utilization.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to streamline clinical workflows.
- Lead nursing recruitment, retention, competency assessments, and career development.
- Develop training programs, professional development pathways, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and compassionate care.
- Manage the nursing budget, staffing plans, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate new technologies, equipment, and digital solutions that enhance nursing efficiency.
- Ensure cost‑effective services without compromising quality.
- Serve as the primary liaison with healthcare regulators, accreditation bodies, and external partners.
- Represent nursing leadership in internal committees and external conferences.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (mandatory).
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or related field (preferred).
- Experience:
- 10+ years of nursing experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Experience in UAE or GCC healthcare systems (preferred).
- Proven track record in managing large nursing teams and complex hospital operations.
- Licensure:
- Eligible for licensing as a Registered Nurse in the UAE (DOH/DHA/MOHAP).
