Orbit ISS are looking for a Piping Designer for a short-term assignment in an oil & gas and marine maintenance & conversion project. This is an immediate requirement, and the selected candidate should be able to join as soon as the final interview is completed. The role involves preparing detailed piping layouts, isometric drawings, and related documentation while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant designs.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare piping layouts, isometric drawings, and fabrication drawings for maintenance and conversion projects.
- Interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and mechanical specifications to produce accurate designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and client specifications (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO).
- Perform line routing studies, considering structural, mechanical, and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Maintain engineering databases, BOMs, and drawing revisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in piping design for oil & gas or marine projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS / Smart Plant 3D, and familiar with CAESAR II for stress checking.
- Knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, API, ISO).
- Experience in maintenance, upgrade, or conversion projects is highly desirable.
- Immediate availability and ability to join once selected.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a short-term project.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Awareness of HSE procedures in oil & gas and marine environments.
